Hi.

I'm Paige! Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, along with simple tips to make the most of your own travels. Enjoy!

Maui, Hawaii

Maui, Hawaii

Now that my blog is finally up and running, I thought it was finally time to dedicate a post to my recent Maui trip! I went for a week last month, and it was one of the most incredible trips I have ever experienced in my life. Here is a little day-by-day itinerary of what we did!

Day 1 & 2: Direct flights from Denver to Hawaii are around 6 hours long, however we decided to break it up a little bit with a stopover in San Fransisco. We flew United and had free movies and tv to watch on both flights which helped take up some of the time! We landed at about 9pm, so there wasn't much to do other than grab a bite to eat and head home to bed! We stayed on the southern coast of Maui, in the Kehei area.

When we woke up the next morning, we were eager to see the island so we made our way down to the beaches near our house. We brought some snorkeling gear, boogie boards and beach chairs, and relaxed at the beach for most of the morning! After that, we walked to the pool in our neighborhood for some afternoon relaxing. Later in the day we decided to go to the Grand Wailea for some Mai Tais at their world famous bar the Humuhumunukunukuapua'a (which is named after Hawaii's state fish!) and then watched the sunset before heading home.

Β

Day 3: We woke up and walked down to Honolulu Coffee company for a quick croissant and cup of coffee, then went back to the beach for a few hours. After coming home and showering, we drove to the northern part of Maui, to a little town called Paia. (I loved this place! πŸ™ˆ) It's pretty small, but filled with several little shops and restaurants. We went to the Flatbread Company and ordered their Mopsy's Kalua Pork pizza. It. Was. Delicious. 😍  From there we went to Ho'okipa Beach near Paia to watch the surfers!

Β

Day 4: We woke up, went back to Honolulu Coffee Company, and then went to the pool to relax.  For most of the day, we laid by the pool, listened to music, ate and just hung out! That night we made dinner at home and then went back to the Grand Wailea for Happy Hour drinks again. 🍹

Β

Day 5: Snorkeling! When we woke up it was pouring rain outside, so we weren't sure if our snorkeling tour was still going to happen, but we made our way down to the pick up spot and the rain magically disappeared! πŸ™Œ  We did our tour with Kai Kanani Sailing Charters, and we absolutely loved it. We did the Molokini Express Tour, which picked us up at 6:30am and took us on a 2 hour snorkeling tour at Molokini Crater. We spent $76 each, and it was worth every penny. On the boat ride to the crater, we saw whales breaching, flying fish and even a dolphin! When we got to Molokini Crater, we spent a little over an hour snorkeling. The water was crystal clear and there were fish everywhere! 🐠  This may have been one of my favorite parts of the trip. After snorkeling, we came home and got ready for our luau. Although it was pricier than the other luaus on the island, we decided to go to the Old Lahaina Luau, which had gotten the best reviews. It was awesome. We paid $110 and it included unlimited drinks and food from their buffet along with an incredible show! I would highly recommend this luau if you are planning a trip to Maui!

Β

Day 6: We woke up and made our way to Geste Shrimp truck where we ate lunch. We had to wait 20 minutes or so for our food but it was definitely worth it! After we ate, we went to visit the Tropical Fruit Plantation in northern Maui where we bought some fresh pineapples and guavas. Then, we drove up through Iao Valley which was absolutely stunning! We then hiked up to the look out point and took some pictures of the beautiful Hawaiian mountains. Before heading home we stopped at Coconut's Fish Cafe for lunch and then Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice. (These were probably the best two things I ate on the entire trip! πŸ™ˆ) Coconut's Fish cafe is known for their world famous fish tacos, and I would definitely have to say that they were the most delicious fish tacos I'd ever eaten! At Ululani's we tried their Rootbeer Float flavor and their Rainbow flavor, both with scoops of vanilla ice cream on the bottom. This is a staple if you are ever in Hawaii. 😍 As silly as it sounds, getting shave ice is the number one thing that I would recommend while visiting Hawaii! Later that day, we went down to the pool to watch the sunset before heading to Mama's Fish House for dinner. This was also one of my favorite parts of the trip! Although it is a little expensive, the food, drinks, atmosphere and service were all incredible. Plus, it is set right on the coast for a beautiful view of the ocean!

Β

Day 7: Our last day!! 😭  For our last day in Maui, we didn't do too much. We woke up and drove down to the beach for one last time, got some lunch, then came back home, packed up our things and left for the airport!

Β

Since the moment we left, I've been wanting to go back! Maui may have been the most beautiful place I have ever seen. Hopefully I will make it back there soon! But for now, here are some pictures from our adventure!
