Las Vegas, Nevada
Back from Vegas again! Last night, I was counting up all of the times that I have gone to Vegas and I counted 11! ๐ Kinda crazy. It's such a quick, easy trip to make from Colorado though! We only booked our hotel and flights two weeks ago, but somehow scored some great deals!!
I don't talk about it as much as I should, but my absolute favorite airline is Southwest. Right now, they only fly in the U.S. and to some Caribbean destinations, however I believe they are looking to keep expanding! They have the best customer service, airline points, free baggage, free cancellation and reservation changes...the list goes on and on. For our trip, we found a $78 rountrip flight from Denver to Las Vegas through Southwest! We were able to book it for a little under 3,000 points, which is unheard of! ๐ณ I will always recommend Southwest to anyone flying in the U.S. and Caribbean. Trust me, you will not regret it! ๐
Accomodations:
- We decided to do an Airbnb on the night that we got there, then a hotel for the second two nights. Being that it was Cinco De Mayo, Kentucky Derby and a fight going on all on the same weekend, hotels were INSANELY expensive on Saturday night! Since our flight landed at 9:30 pm anyways, we decided to just book a private room on Airbnb for $48 that Saturday night. We got there, went out for the night, came back to sleep and left for our hotel the next morning! If hotels are extremely expensive for some reason, whether it be a conference, a holiday or whatever else, always check Airbnb! You can almost always find an inexpensive one that's close to the Strip! ๐
- For our second two nights in Vegas, we stayed at the Delano Hotel, which is part of Mandalay Bay! We decided to treat ourselves to a Panoramic Suite, which was a little more expensive than the run of the house rooms, however we LOVED it. ๐ It had floor to ceiling windows, a living room and two bathrooms, with a gorgeous view of the strip! We were also able to access all of the Mandalay Bay amenities like the pool, restaurants, etc. It was perfect for our stay!
Food/Drinks:
- RA Sushi Bar: We actually ended up going here twice during our stay in Las Vegas! Both times, we ate there during Happy Hour, and we got a tonnnn of food for very cheap prices. It is near the North end of the Strip, located in the Fashion Show Mall. Go here for delicious, cheap eats!
- Zuma: After wanting to eat here for months, I finally had the opportunity to this past weekend! ๐ My boyfriend and I went for a quick drink and dinner before going out on Monday night. The service was incredible, the ambiance was cozy, the food was so fresh and flavorful...I can't say enough good things about this place! We got the sliced seared tuna, sliced yellowtail, sake glazed chicken wings, prawn and black cod dumplings, and two cocktails. It's pricey, but worth every penny. I will definitely be going back. ๐
- Secret Pizza: If you've read any of my previous Las Vegas blog posts, you'll know that this is a delicious hidden gem inside the Cosmopolitan! Up on the third floor, located down an unmarked hallway, is Secret Pizza! It's some of the most delicious pizza I've ever had, and it's always my go-to after a night out! ๐
- Border Grill: While we recovered from a hangover on our last day, we got lunch at the Border Grill, which was right next to the Mandalay Bay pool area. I got a sparking white peach lemonade and a chipotle chicken quesadilla. ๐ It was the perfect place to just sit, relax and people watch!
Activities:
- Omnia Nightclub: We went here on our first night with a friend who is a promoter there! Steve Aoki was playing there, and DJ Irie was playing at Heart of Omnia, the smaller club inside of Omnia. We spent most of our time in Heart of Omnia - it's a little less hectic, we preferred the music a little more and just the overall vibe of the people a little bit more. However, both clubs are great and very fun - try to get on a list to avoid the long lines!
- Pool time: Staying at the Delano, we had access to both the Delano and Mandalay Bay pool areas! We only got in one full day at the pool, due to the rainy weather on the first day. But the day that we spent there was a blast! On the Mandalay Bay side, there is a giant wave pool, lazy river, and various smaller pools and hot tubs. We lounged around all day, ate, drank and relaxed by the pool until we went out later that night! ๐
- Marquee Nightclub: On our last night, we went to see our friend DJ Vice play at Marquee! We always have a great time there - it's definitely my favorite nightclub in all of Vegas. But again, make sure you get on a list to avoid any crazy long lines!
Although the weather wasn't great for the first half of our trip, we still made the most of it! When you're not out enjoying the pool or a dayclub, you can always find a good buffet, bar or shopping area inside. There are endless things to do in Las Vegas, which makes it the perfect destination. ๐
Here are some of our photos from the trip!
