Travel Tip Tuesday: Eating safely while traveling
TRAVEL TIP TUESDAY!
For all of my fellow travelers that have food allergies, this one is for you! I have a severe nut allergy, which can sometimes be very tricky to communicate through language barriers in other countries.
Last year in Mexico, my boyfriend came across a website called brokerfish.com, where I was able to download a card that explained my nut allergy in Spanish, so that I could easily show it to the waiter/manager we were ordering food from. The card says something along the lines of "Hello, this person is allergic to ____. Please do not give them any foods containing these ingredients, etc, etc" I believe there are other websites that will generate similar allergy cards - this is just one that I have used successfully!
I have since used this translation card two separate times in Mexico, and it has worked flawlessly each time! They are downloadable based on your allergy and language preferences.
I would highly recommend using these if you are worried about coming in contact with any allergens on your trips!
Happy travels!
XO, Paige
