NYC, New York
Back from New York! π What an incredible trip. I think my boyfriend and I packed in more eating and exploring on this trip than on any other past vacation!
Accomodations:
- Airbnbs: We actually had a small glitch with our Airbnb when we arrived - we booked a private room thinking we would mostly only be sleeping there and not spending a whole lot of time in it. However, our room was extremely small, smelled strongly of smoke and was just not what we were looking for. We decided on a whim to book a completely new place in the Chelsea neighborhood - an entire place this time. It was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our remainder of the trip!
Food/Drinks:
- B.E.C.: This place was voted β#1 Breakfast sandwich in New Yorkβ and I can definitely see why. Get the βclassicβ, with two eggs, cheese, bacon and the most delicious bun ever. π
- Russ & Daughters: This was by far my favorite meal on our trip! We ordered the Super Heebster, Matzo Ball soup, and the Classic sandwich board. Everything was extremely fresh, flavorful, and the service was amazing! This is a must-try if you are in the East Village!
- ABC Kitchen: We grabbed a couple drinks here before heading to dinner and they were incredible! We got an old fashioned and the ginger margarita. They were both perfectly balanced and very tasty.
- Little Branch: This is by far my favorite spot in all of New York City. Lit by only candlelight, this speakeasy has a jazz trio every night of the week, along with an awesome cocktail list. This is my absolute #1 favorite bar!
Activities:
- High Line: Beginning at The Standard Hotel in Chelsea, this elevated boardwalk offers incredible views of the city.
- Chelsea Market: This was a great way to spend the afternoon! There are tons of fun shops and restaurants to check out, and itβs located right next to the High Line!
- Statue of Liberty cruise: This nighttime, hour long cruise was a perfect way to end the second night of our trip. There are options to sit inside or out, however itβs much better for getting pictures outside! Bring a camera for all of the great views!
- Central Park: Although we didnβt stay for long, it is always fun seeing this staple of New York City!
- Chelsea / West Village / East Village: Iβve still not seen all of NYC, however Iβve concluded that these are my favorite areas that I have explored so far. The pace is a little bit slower and the restaurant/bar options are amazing. π
