Las Vegas, Nevada
Back from one of my favorite vacation spots! My mom and I went on a three day getaway this past weekend to Las Vegas. She hadn’t been to Vegas in over 25 years so it was fun to show her around! Here are some of the best things that we did during our stay!
Food/Drink:
- Peppermill: This was hands down the best meal of our trip! It has a fun, funky atmosphere and the food is delicious. My mom ordered a lemon cranberry muffin as her side and it came out steaming - it was THAT fresh from the oven! My only recommendation is to call ahead to put your name on the list! For just us two, we called about an hour ahead, and then once we got there we only had to wait for about 10 minutes for our table. 😊
- Foundation Room: This is the best view of the Las Vegas Strip that I’ve seen! It’s on the top floor of Mandalay Bay and it overlooks the entire strip. It’s great for photo opps, and the drinks were good too!
Activities:
- Tournament of Kings: The inner nerd in me has always wanted to see this Medieval themed dinner show, but I never had until this past trip! It was super entertaining and nice that dinner was included in the price of the ticket. One thing to know before going - you can’t use any silverware. 🙈 However, they do provide wipes!
- Florida Georgia Line: This was the whole purpose of our trip! My mom surprised me with tickets to see FGL and then we planned our trip around it. It was a great show, and Nelly, who was also performing at Drais Nightclub that night, came out and did an encore with them! 🙈
Things to do/see:
- Neon Museum: This was my first time visiting the Neon Museum and it was awesome. Admission is $25 for the “boneyard”, or you can opt towards the “Brilliant” light show. We just went to see the boneyard but it was still worth every penny! The pamphlet had so much interesting history about the signs, and they all made for great photo opps!
- Fremont Street: Fremont is always entertaining. 🙈 If you’ve never been, it’s fun to see at least once when visiting Vegas. It has the cheapest meals and drinks, the cheapest rooms, and the most interesting people watching. However, I prefer the Strip more!
Overall it was a great trip! And a great place to spend a mom/daughter weekend. 😊 Here are some photos from our trip!
