Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Back from Cabo! And adjusting my body back to it's normal eating schedule. π Have any of you guys done an all-inclusive hotel in Mexico? I swear I must have gained 10 pounds! Anyways, it was a great trip. My family does a big vacation together every year and this year we all stayed in Los Cabos for 5 days!
Accommodations:
- We stayed at the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos and LOVED it. Two years ago, we all stayed at the Fiesta Americana's sister property in Cancun and while the beach was a little better for swimming, I much preferred the Los Cabos resort overall. It was clean, everyone who worked there was nice and helpful, and the resort itself was beautiful and very well manicured.
(TRAVEL TIP) Always lock your valuables in the room safe!!! I can't stress this enough. Without going into details, we had a slight mishap with some of our cash going missing from our room. Another good option may be to just hang your "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door for your entire stay. Regardless, be smart about where you leave your valuables in your hotel room!
Food/Drink:
- Because we chose the all-inclusive option, we mostly ate and drank at our hotel during our time in Cabo. However, my top restaurant choices at the resort were Rosato, Peninsula and La Cevicheria. Rosato is one of the more upscale dining options and they require a certain dress code for guests, but the food was spectacular. La Cevicheria is perfect for a seaside lunch and they have the best fish tacos I've ever eaten! Peninsula is the hotel's main restaurant - it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We ate there multiple times during our stay and always enjoyed the food, drinks and service!
Activities:
- Most of our stay was spent at our resort, but they had activities each day for guests of all ages to enjoy. My favorite was their Fiesta night which I believe is each Tuesday. The hotel staff spent hours preparing a beautifully decorated dinner area with a large Mexican buffet dinner and live entertainment! It was amazing to see how much effort they all put into it!
- Downtown Cabo: We took a 15 minute shuttle ride from our hotel to downtown and spent about 5 hours walking around, shopping and taking a boat out to see the the famous Cabo Arch! We were approached by multiple people asking about boat rides but we decided to go with a guy who offered us a 45 minute long boat tour for $10 per person. He took us out on his boat and showed us the Arch, Loverβs Beach and Divorce Beach, and even some sea lions sleeping on the rocks near the beach.
(TRAVEL TIP) Loverβs Beach is on the Sea of Cortez side and Divorce Beach is on the Pacific side of the Arch rock formation. Loverβs Beach got its name for the calmness of its water and Divorce Beach for the tumultuousness of its water! Although we didnβt get out of the boat on our tour, you can get out and explore these beaches if your tour guide will allow it! π
