Amalfi Coast By Boat
Amalfi Marine Boat Tour - This was our favorite day of our entire Italy trip! We spent 500€ for a private boat, with a skipper for an entire day! It seems like a lot of money, but it was a total once in a lifetime experience and worth every single penny. It also included a bottle of Prosecco, bottles of water, and sodas which was a nice little extra. I’ve included a link to the Amalfi Marine website here and if you’d like to see what our boat looked like I’ve included a link here to that as well!
We started in Positano, and took the boat all the way down to a pristine little beach near Maiori - Spiaggia Cavallo Morto. I have never been to such a beautiful, remote spot. Our skipper dropped us about 50 feet from the shore and we swam and snorkeled up to the beach, which only had about 5 other people on it.
We also made a stop in the town of Amalfi, where we wandered and explored for about an hour, and even walked over to the town of Atrani for a quick photo opportunity! The towns are only about a 15 minute walk from each other so you can visit both very easily!
In between these stops, our skipper dropped us off and let us swim and snorkel at two other spots, Pirate’s Grotto and another little waterfall near Amalfi. We also got to see the amazing Fiordo di Furore (the little hidden beach beneath the bridge that you’ve probably seen pictures of!) and Pandora’s Grotto which was big enough for our entire boat to go inside of!
For lunch, we stopped at Da Teresa, which is an amazing beach club that can only be accessed by boat! It was the quintessential Amalfi Coast beach club, with bright orange umbrellas, crystal clear aquamarine water and sunbathing locals. For lunch, we ordered an aperol spritz, limoncello spritz, caprese salad, and the fresh catch of the day with homemade pasta. It was all AMAZING and the ambiance made it even better.
To finish the day off, we left from Da Teresa and our skipper took us to the Li Galli Islands! These three islands are right off the coast of Positano and according to old legends, are where the mythological creature of sirens or mermaids stemmed from!
Overall, the entire day trip was everything we could have hoped for and so much more. If you are looking for a great way to see and explore the coast in a unique and unforgettable way, this is it! 😊
